TT 2018: Holden/Cain Set Friday Evening’s Three Wheeling Mountain Course Pace
Concluding practice week in excellent fashion, Silicone Engineering Racing’s John Holden/Lee Cain with a stellar standing start lap speed of 115.717 mph, powered to the top of tonight’s Sidecar practice time sheets.
Holden/Cain anticipated by many to be firmly in the mix for three wheeling race honours tomorrow, alongside pre race favourites the Birchall brothers were the only crew this evening to lap in excess of the 114 mph mark.
The Founds brothers Alan and Peter joined in their Brian Gray Powerbiking, Trustland Group backed outfits by Jake Lowther and Jevan Walmsley, respectively finished second and third quickest, following respective lap speeds of 113.557 mph and 113.354 mph.
Placing fourth, fifth and sixth on tonight’s practice leader board were the Carl Cox Motorsport team of Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes (113.198), former TT winners Conrad Harrison/Andy Winkle (110.855) and the highly rated duo of Lewis Blackstock/Patrick Rosney (110.045).
Tony Baker/Fiona Baker Holden second lap tonight which yielded a lap speed of 109.596 was enough to take them to seventh on the time sheets in front of the talented all French team of, Estelle Leblond/Melanie Farnier (108.292).
Rounding the ten quickest crews from the final practice session before tomorrow’s opening Locate.im Sidecar race, was the Beverley based father/son team of Gary Gibson/Daryl Gibson (106.533) and Gary Bryan/Phil Hyde (105.842).
